Take a short drive to hit the slopes at the legendary Whiteface Mountain, which has the highest vertical drop of any mountain in the East. When the mountains aren’t calling, spend a day exploring the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, host of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympic Games. There you’ll find the Olympic Museum, Ski Jumping Complex, the outdoor Speed Skating Oval and more.
If you want to stay close, strap on some provided cross country skis or snowshoes and head over to the 60 acre meadow included with your stay. As a lakefront property, you’ll also have easy access to ice fishing on Upper Saranac Lake. Our hot tub is open all year round, perfect for watching the sun set in the early evenings. Even with the snow falling around you, there is plenty to do outside!
Don’t forget to check out events and activities going on at nearby Whiteface Mountain!

Great family Hikes Within 10 Minutes of Camp Eastwood:
This is our family home (we have a very large family!) on beautiful Upper Saranac Lake. We have been travelling to the Adirondacks for 2 generations and love them and this wonderful lake. We enjoy sharing it with great families when we are not using it, and make every effort we can to have our guest experience the same priceless moments we have when we are there.
We will be available at all waking hours to help you, but we also have a pre-arrival package we send you loaded with information, and we have a notebook at the house that contains information about house operations, hikes in the area, restaurants, and more.
